I have an infinite love of gourmet markets and shops that stock items for my #culinaryadventures I have been coming to Surfas since they were located in Culver City.

This location is crammed tight with stuff to make your epicurean heart sing. From butters, cheeses, pastas, jams, olive oils, Asian food accompaniments, seasonings, gadgets, pots, pans, chocolates, nuts ETC. they have everything here. We went 2 weeks ago when they were have a HUGE sale and I got some loot for Birthdays coming up and Housewarming gifts for new neighbors.

If you are a die-hard foodie or you have to purchase a gift for one I highly recommend this spot. Parking can be tricky though (especially when they are busy) also the Cafe makes great sandwiches and the music in here is always inviting.

Wow, I wandered in on a local excursion (I wanted to see the house used for Six Feet Under, it’s just down the street) and saw this place. As a good writer and home cook/baker, I love a good kitchen supply store and Surfas was simply overwhelming in scope and product—so much for the professional food service and many items that are hard to find for bakers, cake makers, just so many tools. Not to mention an entire refrigerator case dedicated to butter. Came home with lots of fun ingredients and tools!

Pretty much a one stop shop for chefs and culinary enthusiasts! All sorts of equipment and a wide selection of fine foods and even a deli stop, the prices are over the top though!

My first visit was definitely overwhelming to the senses. I found items and products that I had not been able to locate at other businesses. Great place to supply my holiday charcuterie board.

My wife and I went here and loved it. The atmosphere and food service for sandwiches was fantastic. Definitely a good stock of supplies, seasonings and ingredients to cook those special dishes at home for family and friends. We will definitely be back!

If you are serious about food, cooking or baking Surfas is a must visit. They used to be located in Culver City at a( what seems to be) larger venue but recently moved to their current location which is in a somewhat seedy neighborhood. But I’m not complaining because they have some unique ingredients like their porcini powder which is a staple for any savory food I make. They also serve great prepared food that are very tasty but unfortunately a bit pricy. Parking is provided. Prices are on the high side.

We love Surfas. Anyone who likes gourmet food will also love Surfas. When you walk in, it's a wonderland of "wow, I had no idea they made such a thing" and "I think I really need it". You can get discounted cambro containers at an extremely reasonable price all the way up to an authentic Dolce and Gabbana pannetone and black truffle microwaveable popcorn. I find their prices reasonable. I have no idea where else you can find a 3kg bag of valrhona chocolate just in time for the holidays, a 15" victorinox cake knife (one of the most brilliant inventions, go out and get yourself one now, they can cut through a pan de miche), a hand painted bottle of olive oil, and true dark chocolate covered English peppermint.
