Something needs to be done about this. They are scamming people! Their system for bill pay gives you a lower amount due than what u actually need to pay. Then they add late charge after late charge to go with the unbelievable amount you have to pay. Not only that but the water is absolutely useless. You cant drink it...you can barely even shower with it. The pipes through the whole town are rusted and nasty, and instead of fixing anything they charge more and leave everything falling apart.

I've never been more disgusted with a utility company before in my life. I've had this water company for 8 years now and yes during covid I fell behind. I contacted them to set up a payment plan and the amount they told me how much I was going to have to pay each month I told them I would do my best but it was going to be a struggle. I told them I was already conditionally approved for assistance with the bill through united way but have yet to see them get paid. I'm a father of five kids and my wife suffers from a blood disease called acute intermittent porphyria and now she's diagnosed with two white matter lesions on her brain. So after making the first payment of 160 I wasnt able to pay the next one but did pay another 180 on the third month and yup 6 days after they shut my water off. I hurried up and went in to the office to find out if they could work something out with me and they said nope sorry pay the full amount plus all fees and that's the only way it will be turned back on. I could totally understand my water being shut off if I hadn't made no progress In paying the bill down but I was paying them everything I could. Yes there are a few programs that can assist with utilities but how difficult the processes are and the time frames involved companies like this don't want to work with them.

Someone needs to explain why base pay is entered into the equation on my bill. we get billed for
Base Pay
Water consumption
EMWD Sewer
City Sewer & Storm drain
Capital improvement Fee
I called and was told that it was just the way it is with no explanation of each charge. I was also told that if i had an issue with it that I could go to a City council meeting to dispute the charges. I need to know what each charge is in detail first.

Watch Out Folks that are moving here. You WILL be charged as of this date 7/17/2018 for:
1. Water Base( whatever that means) $27.55
2. Capital Improvement Fee $2.50
3. EMWD ( water district) Sewer
$24.03
4. City Sewer & Storm Drain $11.30
And #5 YOUR Actual Water Usage
Of which mine this month is a whopping $7.31. Thats right folks of my $7.31 use of water, $65.38 cents goes to pay for what? I suspect the Water District pays very well because they want us to believe it cost that much for them to deliver water to our homes!
